Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered

We’ve gathered answers to the most common questions to help you understand our services and make the most of your experience with us.

Where are the medications delivered? Most drug companies ship approved MAP medications to your doctor’s office; you will be contacted when they are ready for pickup. Is acceptance into MAP guaranteed once I apply? No. Drug companies decide eligibility and may discontinue a product at any time, so participation is not assured and you should be prepared to purchase medicine if necessary.

You need proof of income for everyone in your household such as recent pay stubs, federal tax forms, or Social Security statements, plus a current medication list, your prescriber’s contact details, a copy of any prescription-insurance card, and a signed, fully completed MAP form.

After the pharmacy mails your application to the manufacturer, medicines can take about four to six weeks—and sometimes longer—to arrive.

Call the pharmacy when you have roughly forty-five days of medication left so staff can reorder on time; dial 434-263-4000 and choose option 2.

Return the signed form and required documents to Blue Ridge Medical Center Pharmacy or call 434 263 4810 for assistance.
